Tegolato wine is prepared in years in which favourable seasonal conditions give the grapes all the characteristics required to obtain a wine with a high alcohol content that is robust and durable. This wine is made from quality grapes selected through years of experience and is prepared and bottled at the Fattoria Antico Castello di Poppiano winery.
This wine takes its name from the long exposure on the roof tiles of the castle where the natural elements give it that particular bouquet and taste that distinguishes it.
Tegolato should be served at a temperature of 20°-24° C after it has been uncorked a few hours in advance (one hour for each year of ageing) and is ideal with typical Italian dishes.
The Kunz princes of Habsburg Lorraine, owners of the ancient Castle of Poppiano, experts in the "tegolatura" method handed down from generation to generation, personally oversaw the production of this wine. Tegolato wine may have some deposits so it is advisable to mix it gently after having kept the bottle in a vertical position for a few days.
